We all need a basic level of strength to function day to day.
We all need physical strength to do simple day to day tasks such as walking, picking up laundry or shopping. Most activity requires some kind of physical strength.
The definition of #physicalstrength varies for each person as we all have different goals. For some it's a 5km walk or lifting heavy weights at the gym; for others it's being able to pick up their children without back pain, doing the gardening, or tidying up. For others, it simply means being able to dress themselves, have a shower or go for a walk.
No matter what you define it as, on a basic level, physical strength is your ability to complete physical tasks using your own strength.
Our muscles play many important roles in our bodies and it's important to support them to remain strong, flexible and healthy. Pilates based classes are a wonderful way to do this. They are often low cardio, low intensity and fully supported by a trained teacher to increase muscular tone and strength, flexibility and function.
For the average person, building your physical strength helps to #preventinjury and improve endurance, reducing the risk of injury and keeping our bodies healthy. The great thing about Pilates is you don't need any level of fitness to begin. Why not schedule some classes and experience a gentle, strength building practice with a supportive and encouraging teacher and see the benefits for yourself?
